Want help getting out of debt and building wealth but not sure where to start?

I learned enough about money growing up on a farm with parents who were always willing to talk openly about it.  I'm forever grateful for that.  And sure, some bits of financial wisdom are timeless.  But the financial environment we find ourselves navigating today is vastly different than it was just 30 years ago.  The game has changed and so must our strategies.

Hi there, I'm Abby Lister

About

I also love helping people align one of their most important resources, money, to their meaning and purpose in life.  Done right, I believe money should amplify and enhance your life, not run it.

Talking about money and helping people eliminate financial stress is one of my favorite things.

I can't wait to talk with you.

hello there!

Looking back, I think I learned how to have a relatively healthy relationship with money from my parents.  We didn't have a lot of money but I didn't know it.  My mom and dad were always willing to talk to me about money, and it seemed like my parents had a pretty healthy relationship to it too.  We grew up on a farm in the Midwest.  My dad would talk about the price of corn or beans per bushel and I would do some rough math in my head.  He gave each of us kids a cow when we were young.  Every year, the cow would have a baby which would eventually be sold at auction and we'd get to keep the proceeds.  But my dad would always say "this money is for your car insurance bill" or "save this money to help pay for your car when you're 16".  Those were the early days of my learning how to keep money in an account without touching it and it proved to be an invaluable lesson.  But I made my fair share of financial mistakes too.  Like the time I tried grad school and dropped out after the withdrawal period and had to pay $4,000 out of my own pocket to settle up with the school, no degree in hand.  But because I had some strong foundations laid by my upbringing around money, I never internalized those mistakes and made them mean something bad about me.  I just picked myself up and kept going.  And that is possible for you too.
